Late Night Conversations with Myself.

It's 1:47am and I'm still awake. This insomnia pattern is familiar to me, it may go on for 3 or 4 nights and then I crash back into a normal sleep routine. A night owl at heart, I do my best thinking in the late late hours of the night, or the early hours of the morning. I started my new sketchbook today. It was a beautiful thing, like cracking the spine of a brand new library book that no one else has touched. I wrote the start date in the front cover and began scribbling song lyrics and drawing my hand. Lovely. Now I'm relaxed, laying in bed, searching youtube for new and interesting songs. There is only one drawback to this insomnia, aside from the shortage of sleep, no one else is awake. Everyone has gone to bed. When my mind is a twirl a good conversation becomes a craving. I will have to settle for good music and a comfortable pillow. Sleep will come soon enough.
Until then sweet dreams to you.

Much Love,
Erin

Happy New Year

Hello my lovely readers,
I know it appears I have dropped off the face of the planet, not so. Christmas was a whirlwind and now it's a brand new year. Happy New Year!!! Having caught  up on some much needed sleep I'm ready to write to my hearts content. Another reason for my absence is a lack of internet connection, however hope is not lost, I will be reconnected tomorrow. Yay! I have new photos to post! In other news I'm moving next month so most of this month will be consumed by organizing and packing...sigh.

My intention is to spend more time with my sketchbook this year, I'll try to post sketches to keep you entertained. I took out an amazing book from the library last month titled " An Illustrated Life " it is an archive of various artists sketchbooks and their thoughts on the process of creating in that format, I loved it! The book has given me a renewed view of my sketchbook. Previously I have really only used sketchbooks for jotting down ideas and scribbling messy sketches for paintings. Now I see they can be so much more!
I have one very exciting commission project to work on this month, birch trees, my very favorite thing to paint as of late. I'm very excited! EEeee!

As for the rest of my day,I'm at the library now, going to take out some books and go home and relax, pick various loved ones up from work and spend the evening hanging out with my lovely friend Shawna.
Enjoy your Tuesday afternoon. Take care.

Much Love,
Erin
